About Bang Maduea Subdistrict
Bang Maduea (ตำบลบางมะเดื่อ) is a subdistrict in Phunphin District, Surat Thani. A school-authored local history hosted by Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University describes its low-lying settlement along the Phum Duang River.
That local account links the name with fig trees along the river and older boat traffic; this is an attributed naming tradition. Communities described include Bang Pracha Phiban, Bang Maduea, Tha Muang and Si Pathum Wan. Provincial community-development records independently identify Si Pathum Wan as village 4 of Bang Maduea.
Choose the precise village or institution before travelling. Historic river commerce does not establish a present passenger boat route or public landing. The tambon also gives its name to a wider police service area, whose jurisdiction should not be mistaken for its administrative boundary.
