Kamala (กมลา) is a subdistrict of Kathu on Phuket's west coast. The Land Development Department places it between Choeng Thale to the north and Pa Tong to the south, with the Andaman Sea along the western side.
Village localities include Bang Wan, Nuea, Khok Yang, Kamala, Hua Khuan and Nakha. Kamala Beach is one coastal feature within this wider administrative area, separately identified in the geological department's coastal inventory. Use the village or beach-access location for a particular journey rather than treating the tambon's reference point as a shoreline entrance.
