Karon (กะรน) is a subdistrict of Mueang Phuket on the Andaman side of the island. Municipal material places Pa Tong to the north, Rawai to the south and Chalong inland to the east.
The Department of Mineral Resources separately identifies Karon Beach and Kata Beach within this tambon. The two beach localities are useful distinctions when choosing accommodation or a meeting point; neither alone describes the whole administrative area. Use the actual beach-access location for directions, and check local conditions at the shoreline rather than inferring them from the administrative page.
