About Mu Ko Chang Archipelago
Mu Ko Chang is the island-group landscape off Trat on the eastern side of the Gulf of Thailand. Ko Chang is its principal visitor base, with forested hills, west-coast beach settlements and boats serving neighbouring islands. The archipelago is a geographic grouping, distinct from Ko Chang island, Ko Chang District and the protected boundary of Mu Ko Chang National Park.
Choose the individual island before arranging a transfer. Mainland approaches to Ko Chang use ferry piers near Laem Ngop, while boats to other Trat islands can leave from different mainland or island piers. A ticket for Ko Chang does not provide transport around the whole group. The wider province is the appropriate orientation for an itinerary crossing island and district boundaries.
Marine activities, waterfall visits and inhabited beach areas do not share one set of opening hours or admission rules. Check the particular park site, boat route and return service. Southwest-monsoon weather, especially from May to October, can reduce outer-island connections even when the main Ko Chang ferry route continues to operate.
