Phanom (พนม) is a subdistrict of the identically named district in Surat Thani. The local authority describes a landscape dominated by hills, with northern and western forest land and smaller streams joining Khlong Phanom and Khlong Sok.
Its administrative plan distinguishes areas served by Phanom Subdistrict Administrative Organisation from those within Phanom municipality. The municipality also includes neighbouring Phang Kan, making those boundaries particularly important when comparing addresses or statistics. This destination covers Phanom tambon itself; individual national-park areas, settlements and river access points retain their own locations.
