About Phru Thai Subdistrict
Phru Thai (พรุไทย) is a subdistrict of Ban Ta Khun in Surat Thani. The district public-health office records nine villages, including Hat Khan, Bon Thung, Thawi Suk, Bang Nao, Phru Si, Tha Phru Thai, Khlong Phikun, Chiao Khwan and Khuan Thong.
Its local history links the name with a wet depression once called Phru Siam, later Phru Thai. The tambon forms part of the Phum Duang corridor described in the district's geographical account. These villages are separate local destinations; the administrative reference point does not represent a river landing or a health-centre entrance.
