About Ranot Subdistrict
Ranot (ระโนด) is both a district name and the name of this seven-village subdistrict in Songkhla. The tambon includes communities such as Maha Kan, Chiang Phong, Khok Thong and Thon Samrong.
The subdistrict authority describes low-lying clay soils suitable for rice cultivation and a western boundary along Songkhla Lake. Pak Trae and Tha Bon lie towards the Gulf side, distinguishing the tambon's lakeside setting from the district's broader coastline.
Local oral tradition connects the name Ranot with rows of sugar palms along rice-field banks. The administrative area extends beyond the central settlement, so village-level addresses are useful for finding a particular community, temple or local service.
