About Ru Samilae Subdistrict
Ru Samilae (รูสะมิแล) is a subdistrict of Mueang Pattani, on the coastal side of the provincial capital. It is particularly associated with Prince of Songkla University's Pattani campus, whose university history records the arrival of its first teachers and students here on 9 November 1968.
The local authority describes a flat coastal landscape with muddy shore conditions around the river-mouth environment. University grounds, residential communities and working shoreline areas have different access arrangements. Ru Samilae is therefore a wider geographic locality, not another name for the campus alone.
Use the relevant faculty, institution or village as the final destination. The university's internal entrances should be checked separately from the subdistrict map point. For shoreline visits, follow local directions and respect fishing activity and residential space.
