About Si Ko Ha
The name reflects how the overlapping limestone islands appear as four from some directions and five from others. These are lake islands in Pak Phayun District, distinct from the similarly named islands off Ko Samui. Cave swiftlets and the history of King Chulalongkorn visiting in 1889 are central to their identity. The royal inscription and memorial at the Na Thewada cliff area connect the scenery with that visit.
Arrange a lake-boat outing through a local community or permitted operator around Pak Phayun or Ko Mak. Much of the interest is in viewing the islands and their cliffs from the water. Bird-nesting caves and concession areas do not imply unrestricted entry; obtain guidance before approaching or landing. Confirm the departure pier, permitted stops and weather conditions with the operator. The map reference is within the island group, not a departure point.
