About Tham Thong Lang Subdistrict
Tham Thong Lang (ตำบลถ้ำทองหลาง) is a subdistrict in Thap Put District, Phang Nga. Irrigation Department research identifies its streams and underground limestone drainage as important sources of water for the Khlong Bo Saen weir downstream.
The Department of Primary Industries and Mines documents a former dolomite quarry in village 1, often nicknamed Switzerland of Phang Nga. Its licence expired in 2021, and the department describes subsequent rehabilitation while stating that the site had not formally opened as a tourist attraction in that report.
Check current permission before seeking a quarry visit; scenic photographs do not establish legal public access. Headwater and cave-drainage sites are working environmental systems, not automatically visitor facilities. Use the actual village or authorised entrance rather than the tambon's reference point.
