About Wang Subdistrict
Wang (วัง) is a subdistrict of Tha Chana District, Surat Thani. The local authority describes predominantly low-lying land extending to the Gulf of Thailand, with Khlong Pak Kio and Khlong Tha Muang running through the area.
Khao Prasong lies towards its inland side. Provincial heritage records place the large and small caves at Wat Tham Yai Khao Prasong in Village 5 of Wang.
The hill's name should not be confused with the separate Prasong tambon. Coastal villages, farmland and the cave-temple area are distinct settings within Wang; use the relevant village or temple address and confirm access with the site when planning a visit.
