Bang Yai (บางใหญ่) belongs to Kra Buri District, Ranong. The Land Development Department describes steep eastern terrain within Thung Raya–Na Sak Wildlife Sanctuary and western land adjoining the Kra Buri River in Lam Nam Kra Buri National Park. It names Bang Song Ra, Bang Song Ra Tai, Bang Yai Nuea, Thap Chak and Bang Yai Tai as communities, with Khlong Lamliang and local Bang Yai waterways forming part of the drainage network.
Use the village and destination when selecting an approach road. Protected forest and river-side communities have separate access arrangements. The tambon is distinct from Bang Yai in Nonthaburi; its administrative reference centre does not identify a park gate, river landing or proposed station.
