About Kalong Subdistrict

Kalong (กาหลง) is a subdistrict of Si Sakhon District in western Narathiwat. Its council's 2023–2027 development plan describes a predominantly upland and mountainous landscape. The administrative area meets Khok Sato in Rueso District to the north and Bannang Sata District in neighbouring Yala Province on its western and southern sides.

The plan identifies Ban Kalong, Pa Phai, Sai Bon and San Khiri as its village areas. Its detailed soil descriptions show that local growing conditions vary between settlements; a single description of the entire tambon as flat farmland would be misleading. The council's office is described as approximately eight kilometres from the Si Sakhon district office.

For a community visit, obtain directions to the specific village rather than treating the subdistrict reference point as a destination entrance. Include Si Sakhon and Narathiwat in searches to avoid similarly named Kalong localities elsewhere.
