About Katong Subdistrict
Katong (กาตอง) is a subdistrict of Yaha District, Yala. Its council's 2024 local profile describes uneven higher ground separated by low-lying land, supporting a mixture of rice fields, rubber plantations and fruit orchards. Earlier council planning also identifies mountains towards the west, rather than a uniformly flat agricultural landscape.
Named communities include Ban Cho Ta Mae, Ponoh and Bluka Luwat. The district agricultural office records Katong's separation from Baro in 1983, while the present administrative boundary adjoins Yaha and Baro and extends towards the Saba Yoi side of neighbouring Songkhla. These details distinguish the tambon from any one village within it.
For a farm or community visit, use the village name and arrange the final approach with your host. The administrative map reference represents the wider area and is not the position of every orchard or council facility.
