About Ko Sukon
Known also as Ko Sukorn, the island belongs to the same-named subdistrict but is not itself the whole administrative unit. Its settled rural landscape includes fishing, rubber and rice cultivation alongside beaches. Watermelon growing is a local speciality, and village lanes offer an alternative to the reef-focused boat trips associated with other Trang islands.
Arrange a boat crossing from the Palian coast and confirm the arrival pier with your accommodation or local host. Cycling and community visits are ways to explore, with activities depending on the season and the hosts available. Respect the predominantly Muslim community and ask before entering working farms or photographing people. Boat operations still depend on weather even when the island can be visited year-round.
