About Puyo Subdistrict

Puyo (ปูโยะ), also written Puyok, is a subdistrict in Su-Ngai Kolok District, Narathiwat. The local authority describes largely low-lying ground, waterlogged areas and peat forest. Its position north of the district centre connects it geographically with Tak Bai to the north, Mu No to the east, Pa Semat to the south and Paluru to the west.

The tambon contains several villages, including Ban Puyo, Ban To Wa and Ban Khu Bae I Kae. It is distinct from Pulo Puyo Subdistrict in Pattani, despite the similar English names. Village and tambon details matter when arranging a pickup or locating a public service.

The landscape is better understood through its communities and wetlands than as a single attraction. Confirm any countryside visit with a local contact and avoid assuming that peat forest has an open visitor boardwalk. Ask about minor-road conditions after heavy rain, and use the actual destination's entrance or meeting point rather than the whole-area map reference.
