About Su-Ngai Padi Subdistrict
Su-Ngai Padi (สุไหงปาดี) is a subdistrict within the larger district of the same name in Narathiwat. Its local authority places it north of the district office. Much of its landscape is low-lying, with peat soils, wet ground, agricultural use and scattered communities, alongside some rising foothill land.
The local history explains the Malay-derived name as a rice canal, reflecting earlier movement and trade along waterways. This tambon should not be treated as identical to every town, station or office described simply as Su-Ngai Padi. Use the village and institution name for the actual destination you want.
Water and rainfall are central to the area's character. If visiting a community or farm, ask for current road directions and confirm access after sustained rain. Canal banks and peatland are not automatically public visitor routes; arrange local guidance if an outing leaves the main road, and keep the Thai name available when discussing transport.
