About Talo Halo Subdistrict
Talo Halo (ตะโล๊ะหะลอ) is a subdistrict of Raman District, Yala. Ban Talo Halo in Moo 2 is an old community within it, surrounded by other villages, cultivated lowlands and wooded higher ground. The wider locality is connected with the Sai Buri basin and the neighbouring Rueso side of Narathiwat.
A distinctive cultural association is Raman kris making. The Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre documents local expertise in forging blades, carving handles and making sheaths, with knowledge passed through skilled craftspeople. This is a living craft tradition, rather than evidence that every workshop operates as a daily visitor attraction.
Arrange any craft visit through a local contact and confirm which workshop or village you will meet in. Keep the Thai spelling with your transport details, as English versions vary. Agricultural tracks, river margins and private homes are separate destinations from the subdistrict's general map reference; access and demonstrations depend on local arrangements.
