Sa-Ae (สะเอะ) is a subdistrict of Krong Pinang District in Yala. Its communities sit within the Pattani River landscape, with cultivated land, forest and hills around the settled areas. Ban Sa-Ae, documented across Moo 3 and Moo 6, is a community within this larger tambon.
Local history connects the name with an Arabic honorific and an account of traders and religious teachers arriving by boat.
