Overview

About Concordian International School

Concordian International School serves children from approximately age 2 through Grade 12 at its Bang Kaeo campus in Bang Phli, Samut Prakan. It offers the IB Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme. From Pre-K to Grade 5, pupils learn through English and Mandarin Chinese immersion with Thai taught daily; from Grade 6, English is the main teaching language while Chinese and Thai continue as language subjects. Admissions involve assessment and an interview, with individual language and learning-support requirements considered by the school.

IB learning and language pathways

Early Years and primary

The PYP provides inquiry-based learning through Grade 5. English and Mandarin Chinese are used for immersion learning from Pre-K to Grade 5, with Thai taught daily. Early Years runs from Pre-K to Kindergarten 3; primary covers Grades 1–5.

Middle and Diploma years

Grades 6–10 follow the IB Middle Years Programme and Grades 11–12 the IB Diploma Programme. English becomes the main teaching language in secondary, while Chinese and Thai continue as language subjects. The IB directory independently confirms all three programme authorisations.

Language preparation and support

Entry requirements depend on the year group. Kindergarten 2–Grade 5 applicants are assessed in English and Chinese, with additional English writing and mathematics tests for Grades 3–5. Secondary applicants need the required English level; Chinese is assessed where previously studied. Summer school or language support may be required.

Applications are accepted year-round, with early application recommended for August entry. The school requests identity and household documents, recent family photographs and the previous two years’ school reports; Grades 6 and above also need recommendations.
