Overview

About LUMA Health

LUMA curates and services health insurance through partner insurers, with a Bangkok office at Park Ventures Ecoplex in Lumphini. Its Thailand range includes Hi5 and PRIME, alongside international Expat Essential and Expat Exclusive options. Compare the named insurer, residence requirements, medical underwriting, cover zone and selected benefits before applying; the LUMA brand does not identify the underwriter of every policy.

Cover, eligibility and support

Hi5 and PRIME eligibility

Their product pages list entry ages 0–70 and residence in Thailand for at least 180 days per year. A child under 18 must apply with at least one parent. Medical questionnaires and occupation restrictions apply. Short-stay visitors should ask about a suitable travel or international product instead.

Official details

Compare the selected benefits

Hi5 has a THB 5 million annual limit, while PRIME offers THB 10 million, 30 million or 50 million limits. Outpatient, dental, maternity and vision benefits are optional. Check room limits, copayments and deductibles in the selected table of benefits.

Official details

Coverage zone and travel

PRIME elective treatment depends on the chosen geographical zone. Outside-zone emergency protection has separate limits, with published travel durations of up to 90 days per trip and 180 days per policy year. This is not unrestricted worldwide elective-treatment cover.

Official details

Existing conditions and waiting periods

The PRIME website excludes pre-existing conditions; its brochure allows an exception only if declared and accepted by the insurer. Obtain a written endorsement before relying on any exception. Benefit-specific waiting periods and exclusions still apply.

Official details

Check direct billing before treatment

Use the preferred-network search and present your member card. Direct billing may be unavailable if information is incomplete or the treatment does not align with the policy. It also does not guarantee final claim approval; paying first and requesting reimbursement may be necessary.

Official details

Hi5 and PRIME claims

Keep receipts, medical reports, itemised bills and prescriptions. First-time claims also require signed identity and bank details. For members with outpatient benefits, the guide allows online claims up to THB 10,000; larger claims require originals. Keep original receipts for 12 months after payment.

Official details

Renewal and payment gaps

The renewal guide describes a 30-day payment grace period without direct billing. Non-payment can terminate cover retrospectively to the renewal date. Reapplying requires new underwriting, and conditions that developed during the previous policy may be treated as pre-existing.

Official details

Enquiries and Bangkok office

The office is Unit 912 on the ninth floor of Park Ventures Ecoplex, 57 Wireless Road, Lumphini, Bangkok 10330. Call +66 2 494 3600 or use hello@lumahealth.com. Published customer-service hours are Monday–Friday 09:00–18:00 Thailand time; the emergency hotline is available 24/7.

Before choosing a policy

Who actually insures a LUMA policy?

Check the insurer and policy wording on your quotation and certificate. Luma Care is an insurance broker; the underwriter and servicing/claims route vary by product.

Does renewal to age 99 guarantee unchanged costs?

The PRIME brochure says policies can renew to age 99, subject to policy terms. Check the renewal premium, benefits, payment requirements and any permitted changes; that age statement is not a fixed-price promise.

Can I assume my preferred Hua Hin hospital is cashless?

Check the current network for your exact plan and hospital, and confirm the proposed treatment and authorisation. A network listing or member card does not guarantee every expense will be approved.
