Khao Takiap Hill

Mountain Nong Kae, Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan

Khao Takiap is the small coastal hill and rocky headland at the southern end of Hua Hin beach, with Wat Khao Takiap on the hill.

About Khao Takiap Hill

Khao Takiap (เขาตะเกียบ), also written Khao Takiab, is a small hill projecting into the sea in Nong Kae, south of central Hua Hin. The Thailand Tourism Directory identifies the landform at the end of Hua Hin beach, with a temple above and a large standing Buddha near the coast. This entry covers the hill and headland as a natural feature. Wat Khao Takiap and the separate coastal shrine have their own records. The hill is a prominent coastal landmark, while views from the temple area look along the Hua Hin shoreline. The Tourism Authority of Thailand notes wild monkeys on the hill and advises care with belongings. Follow local notices and use the established approach. Opening arrangements for temple buildings do not describe access to every part of the headland. The mapped coordinate is a reference for the hill rather than a surveyed entrance or summit. Confirm current access and route conditions locally. The selected July 2022 photograph shows the rocky headland from the beach and does not establish present path conditions.
