About Ko Chan Subdistrict
Ko Chan (เกาะจัน) is a subdistrict of Mayo District, Pattani. Its council's development plan describes both raised plains and lowlands, with Khlong La Ko on the eastern side and irrigation channels across the area.
The five villages are Khaen Thao, La Ko, Khlong Chang, Ko Chan and Yae Ra. Local farming includes rice, gardens and fish rearing; Agricultural Extension Department records also identify a rubber-farming group shared with neighbouring Trang tambon.
The council recounts older trade along Khlong La Ko, exchanging local rice for seafood from Yaring. This is a local historical account. Ko Chan here is an inland administrative area, distinct from Ko Chan District in Chonburi; use the Mayo, Pattani address when seeking directions.
