Queen Savang Vadhana Museum occupies the principal residence, Phra Tamnak Yai, within Sa Pathum Palace at 195 Phaya Thai Road. The foundation’s museum account describes an exhibition hall and furnished residence rooms presenting the Queen’s life, work and family history. The museum opened on 17 December 2008.
The foundation’s notice posted on 17 February 2026 announces temporary closure and says a return to normal museum visiting will be announced later. A current reopening date is not established. Check the foundation’s latest notice before travelling; seasonal hours and reservation information elsewhere on its site do not confirm that visits have resumed.
The foundation’s visiting page specifically covers the season from 18 December 2023 to 29 February 2024. It describes advance reservations and an entrance near Siam Kempinski Hotel, with no museum parking and Siam Paragon parking suggested instead. Treat those as earlier visitor arrangements to reconfirm, rather than current admission or parking guarantees. The museum listing does not establish access to the rest of the palace compound.
The exterior photograph is an archival image published in the foundation’s own museum overview. Its photographer and capture date are unstated; the image does not indicate that the museum is currently open.

The exhibition and residence
The foundation describes two parts: an exhibition hall with biographical and restoration material, and the principal residence with rooms arranged to represent periods of the Queen’s life. Its account includes ceremonial and reception rooms, the Grey Room and study, and later private rooms. These describe the museum’s collection and presentation, not a current open tour.
Plan only after visiting resumes
Wait for a current reopening announcement and confirm the reservation method, available date, admission charge and entry requirements. The older visiting page lists dress requirements, identity checks, lockers and restrictions on photography, food and drink. Ask which arrangements apply to a future booking; the old season’s timetable, prices and health requirements should not be assumed current.
