About Sadao Subdistrict
Sadao (สะเดา) is a subdistrict of Sadao District in Songkhla. The name is also used for the town, municipality, district and border checkpoint, so a complete address is important when choosing a destination.
The municipality's history identifies the locality as an administrative and commercial centre, with historic road connections toward Hat Yai, Padang Besar and Dan Nok. The Sadao border crossing itself is in Samnak Kham subdistrict. Municipal growth and changes in service boundaries should not be used to equate the whole district with this particular tambon.
Use the named office, accommodation or market street as the final point. Travellers heading for the border should obtain current checkpoint directions separately, rather than navigating only to Sadao town. The geographic reference point represents the administrative area and does not replace a confirmed entrance or passenger meeting place.
