About Wat Nong Ket Yai
Wat Nong Ket Yai is a Buddhist temple and local heritage destination in Nong Pla Lai, Bang Lamung. It is distinct from nearby Wat Nong Ket Noi, so check the full name when arranging transport.
The national cultural-environment register describes the old ordination hall and its Buddha images, including the gilded principal image in the posture of subduing Mara. Eight boundary-marker shelters surround the hall. Burapha University’s 2024 library report also documents the old wooden hall and folk museum as subjects of its local heritage work.
Nong Pla Lai Municipality lists the temple and folk museum together as a visitor destination. Ask about access to the museum and individual religious buildings before making a special journey; general access to the grounds does not establish museum hours.
Dress for a working Buddhist temple and follow instructions about shoes and photography. Leave worshippers space and avoid handling objects in the heritage buildings or museum.
