Wat Nong Prue
About Wat Nong Prue
Wat Nong Prue stands in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung. The Fine Arts Department records that villagers established the temple in 1861 and invited the monk Luang Pho Chang to reside there. Consecrated temple boundaries were granted on 1 March 1977. These details distinguish this Chon Buri monastery from temples of the same name elsewhere in Thailand.
The old wooden wihan is an important surviving feature. It houses a gilded stucco Buddha in the posture of subduing Mara and an image of Luang Pho Chang. Burapha University records the rebuilding of its religious-education hall following a 2014 fire. Ask which buildings can be visited rather than assuming all interiors are open.
The exact temple listing gives 038 249 040 and ordinary visiting hours of 08:00–18:00 daily. Ceremonies and individual halls may have different arrangements, so call before a group visit or a journey made for a particular building. Dress respectfully, remove shoes where required and ask before photographing worship.
The map lists accessible parking, entrance and toilet facilities. Confirm the route to the particular hall and any assistance your party needs; those facilities do not establish step-free access to every building.
