About Wat Phra Yai
Wat Phra Yai, วัดพระใหญ่, is the hilltop Buddhist site on Phra Tamnak in Pattaya. The Tourism Authority of Thailand describes its large golden Buddha as approximately 18 metres high, with Buddha images associated with the days of the week nearby. The reviewed site photograph shows the naga-flanked steps leading toward the main image.
This is Pattaya’s Wat Phra Yai. Temples with the same name on Ko Samui and elsewhere are separate places. Use the exact Pattaya pin and agree your arrival point before travelling.
Published visiting hours differ: TAT Japan lists 10:00–20:00, while the current map profile lists 07:00–22:00. Confirm access locally for your intended time, particularly early or late in the day. The long stairway shown in the photograph does not establish a step-free route.
Dress respectfully, follow instructions about footwear and devotional areas, and give worshippers space. Current admission arrangements and a temple enquiry phone were not confirmed. A third-party ticket-sales link appearing on a map is not used here as the temple’s official contact.
