Overview

Before paying or setting out

Velo Hua Hin is the Hua Hin bicycle shop of Velo Thailand, at 123/50 Hua Thanon Road in Nong Kae. It combines independent bicycle hire with guided rides into the hills west of town. Touring bicycles and hardtail mountain bikes are available through the company’s rental service, while its Hua Hin operation also advertises full-suspension downhill bikes. Choose the riding experience before choosing a bicycle. The trails west of the main road give a different experience from a coastal outing or a longer touring journey. Discuss your experience and intended terrain when requesting a place, so the team can match the bicycle and itinerary to your plans. The wider workshop service covers tyres, wheels, brakes and drivetrain work. Ask the Hua Hin team to confirm the job and parts required before bringing in a bicycle. Shop opening times and branch telephone details differ between available listings, so use the official Hua Hin tour enquiry page to arrange a specific visit.

Independent hire

The rental service offers hourly, daily, weekly and longer hires. Ask about a suitable frame size, racks and touring equipment for the journey you have planned.

A tailored off-road route

The local guided trip can use easier cross-country trails or harder technical sections. It begins with bike fitting and a briefing, rather than sending a mixed-ability group straight onto one fixed route.

More than the local loop

The Hua Hin tour catalogue also includes a three-bay coastal outing, Pala-U waterfall trips and downhill riding. These are separate itineraries; request the travel, riding and equipment details for the one you want.

Practical riding questions

Is a helmet required on a guided tour?

Yes. Velo’s booking conditions require cyclists to wear a bicycle helmet throughout its tours. Confirm whether the helmet is included in the tour quote; the separate hire tariff lists a helmet charge.

Does booking a Hua Hin tour remove the need for personal travel insurance?

No. Velo’s general conditions require medical and emergency-evacuation travel cover. The stated exception is for its Bangkok day tours, so do not apply that exception to a Hua Hin ride.

Can a route change after I have booked?

Velo reserves the right to change itineraries for safety and local conditions. Discuss the route with the guide if weather or trail conditions change.
