Tourist Visa Document Checklist
Build a Thai tourist visa application file: passport, portrait, residence, travel, accommodation and financial evidence, with upload checks and a separate arrival-document list.

Thai tourist visa document checklist
Use the checklist shown by the official e-Visa portal and the Thai mission handling your application. Prepare identity, residence, travel, accommodation and financial evidence, then check consistency before payment. The list below helps organise the file; it does not replace mission-specific requirements.
Find what you need
Use a section below to plan your next step.
First confirm which checklist applies
Start with your nationality, passport type, country of residence, current location, tourism purpose and travel dates. Confirm whether you need a tourist visa at all and which mission may consider the application. A list written for a resident of one country can omit evidence required in another.
Use the official Thai e-Visa portal and the selected mission’s tourist-visa instructions together. Check whether you are applying for single or multiple entry; do not assume that the supporting documents or fee are identical. If your purpose includes work, study or another activity, settle the correct category before building a tourist file.
Identity and residence file
Prepare these categories and match the exact evidence requested by your mission.
Travel, accommodation and financial evidence
| Comparison | Prepare | Check before upload |
|---|---|---|
| Travel plan | Arrival and departure details, reservations or itinerary in the form requested. | Names, destinations and dates align with the application and intended stay; check the mission’s rules before paying for inflexible bookings. |
| Accommodation | Bookings or host information covering the parts of the trip requested. | Guest name, address and dates are readable. If staying with friends or family, ask which invitation and host records are needed. |
| Finances | Account statements or other accepted financial evidence for the specified period. | Owner’s name, dates, currency and required balances or transactions can be read. A screenshot of a single balance may not satisfy a statement requirement. |
| Sponsorship | Sponsor letter, relationship and financial evidence if the mission accepts this arrangement. | Do not substitute another person’s account without explaining the relationship and meeting the actual sponsorship requirements. |
| Additional case evidence | Any further documents the portal or mission requests for your circumstances. | A generic checklist does not override an individual request; respond by the stated channel and deadline. |
How to check the financial part
There is no useful single figure to copy into every tourist-visa checklist. Missions can specify the currency, amount, statement period, account ownership and sponsorship conditions. Use the current requirement for your application and keep evidence that shows you meet it.
Distinguish application evidence from entry requirements. A mission’s bank-statement rule is not automatically the same as any funds you may be asked to show when entering Thailand. Check both stages and ask how unusual circumstances, such as a jointly held account or a sponsored child, should be documented.
Do not edit balances, hide inconvenient transactions or create a booking solely to misrepresent your plans. If evidence needs explanation, provide a truthful explanation through the mission’s accepted process.
Children, unusual passports and changed plans
For a child, ask whether birth records, parental consent, custody documents, sponsor records or additional signatures are required. Match the instructions to who is travelling and who has legal responsibility; do not assume an adult’s checklist is sufficient.
Emergency passports, refugee travel documents and other non-standard documents need specific eligibility checks. London’s tourist page, for example, tells UK refugee and emergency travel-document holders to obtain a visa before travelling. Other passports or documents require their own mission guidance.
If a name, passport or travel plan changes after submission, contact the mission before trying to use the approval. Do not assume that a new passport number or different purpose can simply be written onto an issued visa.
File and submission quality check
Keep a separate arrival folder
Once approved, check the visa’s identity details, validity, entry allowance and conditions. Save the approval offline and carry it in the form required by your mission and airline. Add the relevant travel, accommodation and funds evidence for entry checks. Approval does not remove Immigration’s authority to decide admission.
TDAC is a separate arrival registration. Use the official Immigration system, which is free, and check its submission window and exceptions for your arrival. It is not part of buying an e-Visa and does not grant extra days.
After arrival, check the permission-to-stay date recorded by Immigration. Keep that date with your departure plan; the visa’s last-use date is a different deadline.
Questions travellers ask
Is this the complete official checklist for everyone?
No. It is an organiser for the common evidence categories. The portal, responsible mission and any individual request determine your application’s actual file.
Should I upload extra personal documents just in case?
Provide what is required and relevant. Ask the mission how to explain an unusual case rather than sending unrelated sensitive records or paying someone who promises that more pages guarantee approval.
Can an agent guarantee approval with this file?
No. A complete and truthful file supports assessment; it does not guarantee a visa or entry. You remain responsible for the information submitted in your name.
Is TDAC a paid tourist visa document?
No. The official TDAC is free arrival registration, separate from a visa application.
