About Ao Tong Subdistrict

Ao Tong (อ่าวตง) is a subdistrict of Wang Wiset District in Trang. Despite the word often transliterated as Ao, it is an inland administrative locality and should not be presented as a coastal bay or beach destination.

The Community Development Department's profile describes extensive reserved-forest land alongside areas used for rubber, oil palm and other crops. It also records local history linked to transport along Khlong Chi. University research identifies the Ao Tong uplands as the source area of that waterway before it reaches Wang Maprang Nuea and other localities downstream.

For a community or farm visit, agree on a village and meeting point first. Forest status and private cultivation affect access independently of the tambon boundary. Check the intended road and any permission requirements locally, particularly for journeys toward the headwater landscape.
