About Bang Kao Subdistrict

Bang Kao (บางเก่า) belongs to Sai Buri District, Pattani, on the Gulf of Thailand. The district office identifies four villages and places it between Nam Bo to the north, Pase Yawo to the south and Paen inland.

The district records a local name, Mue Nga Bae, associated with raised ground beside a natural watercourse running parallel to the sea. This account explains a settlement tradition and should not be read as a dated founding history.

Agricultural Extension Department records also identify a watermelon farming group in Moo 4. The combination of coastal settlement and farming is more representative of the tambon than treating it as a single beach. Specify the village or coastal destination when seeking directions.
