About Buemang Subdistrict

Buemang (บือมัง) is a subdistrict of Raman District, Yala. The name is also heard locally as Bu Mae and is linked in community accounts to a tree formerly common in the area. Ban Buemang in Moo 2 is one village within the tambon, distinct from the whole administrative area.

Rubber, fruit growing and rice farming shape the landscape and economy. The Anthropology Centre records local knowledge of stingless-bee keeping and the grilled rice-flour sweet madu khatong, often described as khanom ruang phueng. Village shops meet everyday needs, while larger purchases have traditionally involved Raman or Yala town.

A visit centred on food or agriculture needs a named household, producer or community contact. Confirm whether a demonstration or sale is available on your intended day; cultural documentation does not establish a permanent visitor programme. Ask about the road approach and permission for any farm visit, and use the meeting point rather than the tambon's general reference coordinates.
