About Don Sai Subdistrict

Don Sai (ตำบลดอนทราย) is a subdistrict in Khuan Khanun District, Phatthalung. Ban Chan Na in village 4 is the setting for Tai Nod, a community market with a strong connection to local food, reading and the arts.

The Department of Internal Trade traces the market to the family home of S.E.A. Write Award recipient Kanokphong Somsphan. His brother developed a community learning and reading space there, followed by a market for local produce, southern foods and handmade goods. The department describes natural materials and reduced plastic packaging as part of its approach.

Check the market's current trading day and arrangements before travelling. Use the Ban Chan Na market address rather than the tambon reference point. Don Sai is also a wider residential and agricultural area, so individual farms and community groups require their own directions.
