Confirm the permitted boat route and landingAbout Ko Dong
Ko Dong lies in the western part of the Adang–Rawi archipelago, within Ko Sarai Subdistrict. Maps also identify it as Ko Butong or Ko Batong. It is a physical island within Tarutao’s marine landscape, distinct from the smaller rock landmark of Ko Hin Son to its south-east.
Setting and highlights
The island is associated with outer-zone marine excursions and the coastal areas known as Ao Ling and Ao Panan. Its distance from the main Ko Lipe visitor base makes sea conditions and the scope of the planned boat route particularly relevant.
Getting there
Discuss the Ko Dong outer-island route with an operator on Ko Lipe rather than assuming a scheduled passenger boat calls at the island. Confirm the intended viewing or water stops, return arrangements and which coastal areas may be entered.
Planning your visit
Check current park notices for the specific bay or reef you intend to visit. Carry the provisions and suitable flotation equipment agreed with your operator. Current landing facilities, accommodation and a fixed island opening timetable are not confirmed.
