About Ko Hong
Ko Hong is the main visitor island of Krabi's Hong Islands group, also known locally as Ko Lao Bile. It sits within Than Bok Khorani National Park and belongs to Khao Thong Subdistrict in Mueang Krabi District. This is the Krabi island, separate from the different Ko Hong in Phang Nga Bay.
A sheltered beach lies beneath limestone cliffs, while boat excursions also explore the enclosed lagoon. The elevated viewpoint gives a wider perspective across the surrounding islands; reaching it involves a stair climb rather than a step-free lookout. Swimming, snorkelling and nature viewing are the usual reasons for a visit.
Boats operate from the Krabi coast and tours may combine Hong with Lao Lading or other nearby islands. Confirm both the landing stop and lagoon visit in your itinerary. Park admission, permitted areas and sea conditions should be checked before travel. Wear suitable footwear for the viewpoint and follow park directions around the beach, reef and boat approach.
