About Ko Khop
Ko Khop is a physical island in the Songkhla Lake system, administratively in Ko Mak Subdistrict, Pak Phayun District, Phatthalung. The Thai spelling เกาะโคบ helps distinguish it in local maps and school or village records.
The island forms part of a lake landscape of fishing communities and smaller islands rather than an open-sea beach destination. The local authority identifies Wat Ko Khob's elevated viewpoint, while national research records include the island in community-tourism routes.
Plan the route with a local community contact and use the specific village or temple location as your destination. A general island point does not identify an agreed arrival landing or the start of a temple path.
At the temple, dress respectfully and check locally before using steps or viewpoint areas. Arrange any boat excursion and return explicitly, allowing for lake weather. Community visits should respect working fishing areas and residents' homes rather than assuming every shore is public access.
