About Ko Lanta Yai

Ko Lanta Yai is the larger visitor island of Ko Lanta District in Krabi. Its west coast contains the main beach and accommodation areas, while the road south leads towards Mu Ko Lanta National Park and the lighthouse headland. On the east coast, the old town of Si Raya offers a different perspective on the island's trading and community history.

The entire island is not the same boundary as Ko Lanta Yai Subdistrict: Saladan covers part of its northern area. Choose the actual beach or settlement when arranging accommodation or a pickup, rather than relying on an island-wide destination name.

Road access from the mainland runs through Ko Lanta Noi and the Siri Lanta bridge. Confirm the current mainland crossing and leave time for ferry queues. Boats to outlying islands and diving sites are affected by monsoon conditions and park closures; admission to the park's southern section is separate from simply travelling around inhabited areas of Lanta Yai.
