About Ko Phra Thong Subdistrict
Ko Phra Thong (ตำบลเกาะพระทอง) is a subdistrict in Khura Buri District, Phang Nga. Its council identifies four villages: Thung Dap, Tha Pae Yoi, Ko Ra and Pak Chok.
The council's 2026 community consultation records meetings across these villages and with the Thai Moken community at Ao Bon in the Surin Islands. The administrative area is therefore broader than the physical island usually marketed as Ko Phra Thong. Provincial fisheries material identifies Thung Dap landing as one specific locality.
Specify the intended island, community and landing before arranging travel. Offshore journeys and protected-area visits need current boat and access confirmation. Community meetings and local administrative coverage do not establish an open visitor programme; approach residents respectfully through a host rather than treating settlements as attractions.
