About Ko Phra Thong

Ko Phra Thong lies off Khura Buri District in Phang Nga. The physical island is distinct from Ko Phra Thong Subdistrict, which also includes neighbouring islands such as Ko Ra and offshore conservation islands.

Its landscape combines beach coast, mangrove channels, wetland woodland and unusual open grassland. The island is therefore a place for looking beyond the beach, with local communities and sensitive habitats forming part of the same landscape.

Boat access is arranged from the Khura Buri mainland area. Confirm the correct pier and which side of the island your host uses: a generic map point in the interior does not identify a passenger landing or a road-accessible visitor entrance.

Plan supplies, local transfers and any guided nature activities with your accommodation or community contact. Avoid driving or walking into wetland habitat without local guidance, and check current sea conditions and conservation permissions before arranging trips to neighbouring islands.
