Ko Rin

Ko Rin is a physical island off the Pattaya coast in Chon Buri. DMCR's inventory assigns it to Pattaya City, Bang Lamung District. It is separate from the Samae San island group farther southeast; the previous group relationship was incorrect. Official marine conservation accounts describe reef habitats around Ko Rin, including a DMCR diving and cleanup operation. These accounts establish the marine setting but do not themselves grant visitor access. A historical TAT announcement relaying the Sattahip Naval Base's warning prohibited tourist landings and diving nearby because the area was used for weapons training. Access is unresolved: later DMCR reports describe diving activity, while the earlier Navy warning remains material and no current rescission or unrestricted visitor permission was established in this review. Obtain explicit current guidance from the responsible Navy authority and a qualified operator before arranging any landing or dive. Do not assume an advertised tour overrides military restrictions.
