About Ko Samet
Ko Samet lies off Ban Phe in Phe Subdistrict, Mueang Rayong District. Its visitor areas include a port village, beach accommodation and coastal businesses, while much of the island falls within Khao Laem Ya–Mu Ko Samet National Park. It is distinct from Rayong's Mun island group.
Hat Sai Kaew, Ao Phai, Ao Wong Duean and Ao Phrao are among the island's separate beach and bay areas. Their locations matter when choosing accommodation and transport: a boat advertised for Samet may arrive at Na Dan or another landing. National park rules apply in protected areas even where accommodation and restaurants operate nearby.
Mainland access is through the Ban Phe area. Confirm the arrival pier or resort landing, onward transfer, return service and current boat fare before booking. Ask whether national park admission is included; accommodation and transport charges do not automatically cover it. Check park notices and marine weather, follow marked swimming areas and arrange any overnight stay directly with the provider. Fixed boat schedules and park fees are omitted pending date-specific confirmation.
