About Ko Sirey
Ko Sirey, also written Ko Sire, lies just east of Phuket Town in Ratsada Subdistrict, Mueang Phuket District. A narrow waterway separates it from the main Phuket island, but a bridge makes it accessible by road. It is a geographic island with communities and individual businesses, rather than the name of one resort or attraction.
Wat Ko Sire stands on a hill and provides the island's best-known cultural landmark. The temple has a reclining Buddha and a gold-coloured pagoda balanced above a large rock; views extend towards the sea and Phuket Town. Reaching the temple's upper area involves stairs.
A visit can be arranged as a road excursion from the town rather than a ferry journey. Check the particular entrance or destination you want, because the island reference point is not a temple entrance. Dress respectfully in the temple grounds and consider the stair access when planning for anyone with limited mobility.
