Ko Tapu is the conspicuous limestone sea stack beside Khao Phing Kan in Ao Phang Nga National Park. Its narrow lower section and broader top give it a nail-like profile. It is a natural landmark in Kalai Subdistrict, Takua Thung District, rather than a commercial attraction.
Setting and highlights
The name James Bond Island is often used for the visit to this setting, but Ko Tapu is the offshore stack itself. Neighbouring Khao Phing Kan is the viewing and landing location; their identities should not be confused.
Getting there
Visit by an authorised boat route in Phang Nga Bay and confirm which pier and itinerary your operator uses. The view is from the water or the neighbouring shore. The sea stack is not an island visitors can climb or land on.
