About this place

Lumphini Park is a large BMA-managed public park in Pathum Wan, with shaded paths, lawns and a central lake. Visitors come for walking, jogging and outdoor exercise; the city also lists playgrounds, exercise equipment, toilets and lockers. General entry is free. Boat activities and other individual facilities can have separate operating arrangements and charges, so check locally before planning around them. Current BMA park information and the Tourism Authority of Thailand publish daily opening from 04:30 to 22:00. Some older city information closes the park at 21:00; follow current gate notices and confirm special-event restrictions with the park office. The city’s Greener Bangkok page permits cycling from 10:00 to 15:00; this is not unrestricted all-day cycling access. The park is accessible from MRT Si Lom and Lumphini or BTS Sala Daeng, with different entrances around its perimeter. The official contact address is 192 Witthayu Road, Lumphini, Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330. Choose an entrance for your intended meeting place rather than treating the central map point as a vehicle entrance. The photograph is an actual lakeside view published in BMA’s park gallery. Its capture date is not supplied; buildings, paths and facilities may have changed.

Choosing an entrance

The park has entrances on several surrounding roads. Confirm the gate nearest your destination, current parking access and any step-free route with the park office. Special facilities and event stages have their own access arrangements.

Walking, exercise and the lake

The tourism authority describes a green city retreat used for early and late-day jogging, with birdwatching and a public library among its attractions. The city lists boat activities, play areas and exercise lawns. Check the operating point for any activity you want to use; park opening does not guarantee that every service is staffed.

Events and commercial filming

Organised events and commercial photography or filming require park permission. Contact the park office or use BMA’s public-space platform before arranging equipment, amplified sound or a group activity. Approval conditions, permitted areas and charges depend on the activity; ordinary free park admission does not cover exclusive venue use.

Bringing a dog

A separate BMA Dog Park opened at Lumphini in February 2026. Use the designated enclosure and check its registration, vaccination and lead rules; its opening does not establish general off-lead access throughout the park.
