About Nikhom Phatthana Subdistrict
Nikhom Phatthana (นิคมพัฒนา) is one of the two subdistricts of Manang District, Satun. It is distinct from the district and province of similarly transliterated names elsewhere in Thailand.
Government village records include Phang 118 in Village 2, while provincial agricultural material identifies Phang 11 and 17 in Village 8 beside Khlong La-ngu. The Anthropology Centre's district history explains that Nikhom Phatthana and Palm Phatthana were separated from Khuan Kalong to form the new Manang administrative area. This settlement history helps explain the use of numbered phang community names.
For travel, keep the village number and settlement name together. A numbered community, public institution and the tambon's geographic reference point are different locations. Confirm the actual road and meeting place with a local host, particularly for visits to agricultural or managed land.
