About Prasong Subdistrict
Prasong (ประสงค์) is a subdistrict in Tha Chana District, Surat Thani. Its local authority describes settlement and agricultural land across a broad plain-and-foothill landscape.
Highway 41 provides a useful geographical division: the western side is mainly foothill land, while the eastern side is lower-lying. Neighbours include Khlong Pha, Samo Thong and Wang in Tha Chana, and Pa We and Pak Mak towards Chaiya.
The administrative area also reaches towards the Ranong side of the peninsula. It should not be confused with Khao Prasong's cave-temple site in neighbouring Wang. A specific village or destination is needed for local travel within the wider tambon.
