Weather in Satun

Andaman trips generally suit the drier months around November to April. Southwest-monsoon rain and rough seas can affect outdoor access and boat services, so check current forecasts and park notices rather than treating a seasonal pattern as a guarantee.

About Satun

Satun Province occupies part of Thailand's southern Andaman coast beside Malaysia. A visit may focus on the mainland town and natural landscapes or on offshore islands, and those choices require different accommodation and transport plans.

Ko Tarutao, Ko Lipe, Ko Adang and the Ko Bulon area are well-known island destinations. Mainland options include Thale Ban National Park and cave landscapes highlighted by TAT. Local food and community life reflect the province's Thai-Muslim and wider southern cultural setting, which should be approached respectfully.

Pak Bara is a major departure area for island journeys, but the correct pier and route depend on the destination and season. Confirm the full transfer, park requirements and return service with the operator; do not infer international-border availability from an island's proximity to Malaysia. Southwest-monsoon weather can affect boats and protected-island access. Check current marine forecasts, seasonal park notices and confirmed departures rather than relying on old closure dates. Dress considerately in mainland communities and avoid disturbing reefs or wildlife.

Satun Province covers 2,478.98 square kilometres and had 7 districts, 36 subdistricts and 280 villages at 31 December 2024. Its 2024 registered population was 324,879; this is a whole-province civil-registration count, distinct from the capital city or an estimate of visitors.

Andaman trips generally suit the drier months around November to April. Southwest-monsoon rain and rough seas can affect outdoor access and boat services, so check current forecasts and park notices rather than treating a seasonal pattern as a guarantee.
