About Tha Kham Subdistrict

Tha Kham (ตำบลท่าข้าม) is a subdistrict in Panare District, Pattani. It includes Wat Hongsaram, formerly known locally as Wat Tha Kham, and is separate from the many other Thai tambons sharing the same name.

The Fine Arts Department documents the temple's traditional timber buildings, decorative carving and murals combining Buddhist narratives with local and Chinese motifs. Its history connects the earlier temple name with a crossing over a canal. These are specific heritage features within a wider inhabited subdistrict, not evidence that all local buildings are part of a museum.

Contact temple custodians before visiting interiors or photographing murals. Follow guidance around fragile timber and painted surfaces, particularly where conservation work limits access. Use the temple or village address for navigation and confirm any cultural visit separately from school or administrative services.
