About Wiang Subdistrict

Wiang (เวียง) is a subdistrict in Chaiya District, Surat Thani. The district agricultural office records five villages: Choeng Samo, Kun, Pho, Don Phot and Sam Sak.

Wat Phra Borommathat Chaiya is located in Wiang and is a major religious and cultural landmark of the district. Its presence makes this tambon important to visitors interested in Chaiya's heritage, while surrounding communities retain agricultural land uses.

The temple is a specific destination within the administrative area, with its own access and worship arrangements. Wiang should also be distinguished from Wat Wiang, which provincial records place in neighbouring Talat Chaiya, and from the many other Wiang tambons across Thailand.
